Paper, paper, and more paper!
Anyone else have problems with paper building up? The tornado piles in my bedroom tend to be of paper I'm saving for some odd reason. The paper is old check stubs, bills of all kinds, receipts from online purchases and payments, bank statements, articles and what not that I've printed off the internet. I have a nice shredder that gets some serious use from time to time and yet I can't seem to keep the paper from piling up. I'm open to ideas on what other people do. What kind of things do you save and not save? I read some place that scanning your documents onto your PC is a good way to cut down on all the paper. I have a multi-purpose printer that I can do just that with. I wonder if that would help but then there is the concern of my PC getting a virus and or a fire and losing all my data. Does anyone use an external back-up service? Something like what Geek Squad offers. I'd like to hear if its worth it.

Lists
I like lists, lists are a good way for me to get things done. However I'm not good at making them in the fist place. Anyone else feel like they have a hard time following through on their lists? I crave to be organized and yet I look at my bedroom and you would think a tornado came through. Well more like a tornado that likes to stack things and make individual piles of stuff. It seems every time I pick up a pile another one takes its place. I almost feel like I need to take a nice long vacation and pay to have someone come in and organize it all for me. I would write down what I feel is important and everything else they can throw. It seems when ever I start to do that everything has some importance/meaning and I can't get rid of it. Some stuff I just refuse to recycle even though I'll probably never read that January 2003 magazine again. The problem is I love to read and some day I want to have a huge library/study in my house. What's funny is I don't have a house so maybe my focus is slightly backwards. Maybe posting will motivate me to make that list of what is important and what I would like to keep for my future study.

Political Action
You know what turns me off from participating in organizations? It's the feeling that they jam things down your throat. How about talking to me in a normal way and being respectful to my opinions. I have a hard time working with people who have to control the conversation. You know, the person who has to hear themselves talk. I would like to get involved in a non-profit organization and lobby on their behalf. I'm not sure I have the right personality though. I want to work with people regardless of political party to achieve a common goal. Why do people have to be "out to get you" if you don't agree with everything they say?
Me
Where to start? I guess I'll keep the first posting simple and just give the basics. I'm 31 and I live in Minneapolis. I'm a full time student at Metro State and I work part time doing accounting for an internet company located in E.P. I'm a Social Science major with emphasis on PoliSci with the goal of being a lobbyist one day. (Maybe) Currently I'm single and some times I think that's good and some times I wish I was not.
I'm not sure what I'm really looking to do with this blog. I don't know how personal to get or if I even want to get that personal in the first place. I think I'll play it be ear and see how it goes.
